Quest Camp Afterschool Program
Starting in 1992, Quest has provided a unique after school program to supplement the intensive summer program. Through a two hour, once-a-week group, Quest provides an opportunity for children to become aware of their difficulties and the ability to learn methods to change unproductive behaviors. Through an hour activity, trained staff is able to observe how children function and help as the problems appear. In the group therapy hour, children receive an individualized behavioral contracts and fortification of the skills learned through the activities.

Through the positive support and guidance of the staff, children learn much about themselves and others. They learn better coping mechanisms and receive help to combat the frustrations experienced through school.

Quest has proven its effectiveness in helping hundreds of children since 1992. Parents consistently state their high satisfaction with the program .

The Quest Camper

The Quest camper is a child with average to above average intelligence and many strengths. They may experience frustration in their lives and poor self-esteem due to a sense of failure and the lack of acceptance. They may struggle in finding stable good friends and acceptance from peers. A Quest camper may also fail to achieve goals consistently and have more frustration than most children their age.

Quest campers may have diagnoses of ADHD, Adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities or self esteem problems. Children with severe aggressiveness and violent behavior are not suitable for Quest Camp.

Parent Meetings Evening group meetings are held every five weeks for review of the children’s progress and discussion of therapeutic techniques best for family growth. Parents receive a written evaluation and consult with professional staff.
Quest Family Guidance CenterComprehensive Family Mental Health Services
We at Quest have been strongly committed to providing innovative, highly qualified mental health services in the East Bay for the past 27 years. During this time, many have professed expertise in assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and their families but few have had the success of the Quest staff. We provide accurate, ethical assessments and treatment that makes a difference.
Assessment Without a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, a treatment plan is difficult to develop. Comprehensive diagnostic testing of cognitive, academic and psychological functioning is available. Drs. Bonardi, Field and Peters provide assessments of learning and attentional disabilities, psychological problems and personality for diagnostic, educational and forensic needs.
Psychopharmacology consultationAs a Fellow in the International College of Prescribing Psychologists, Dr. Field has extensive training in psychotrpic medication indications and side effects. He is able to provide input on appropriate medication and modification for best results. Through collaboration with physicians, patients receive a high level of care.
Advocacy/Mediation Services Quest staff has extensive experience in advocacy for educational services and programs. Consultation services will assist integrating a therapeutic educational plan along with therapy services.
Psychotherapy After specific problems have been identified, treatment recommendations may include medication and psychotherapy. Based on the patient's needs, specific staff and services will be recommended to provide the most effective treatment program.
